Our New Dream Spot on Madeira

In 2022, we, Dave and Anne, began a new adventure. After creating our Boutique Houses in Calheta, we discovered a remarkable plot of nearly 6,000 m² just outside Caniço, with two charming cottages. Pomar means "orchard" in Portuguese – a fitting name for this fertile area, where local families grow apples, oranges and lemons.

Lovingly Restored into an Oasis of Tranquillity
Completely surrounded by nature and just 13 minutes from Funchal,  this land had long been on the market and radiated potential. Together with a team of skilled craftsmen, we brought the cottages back to life, preserving original details while adding contemporary luxury. The result: an atmospheric place full of peace, comfort and wellness.

Luxury, Wellness & Ocean Views
Since 2025, we’ve been renting out two unique holiday homes – each featuring a private outdoor sauna and panoramic views of the valley and the Atlantic Ocean. Our saunas, designed in partnership with Welvaere, are fitted with high-end HUUM heaters for an exceptional spa experience. Our goal was to create a place where you can truly unwind, surrounded by nature yet with every modern comfort within reach. Sustainability plays a central role, with energy-efficient solutions and water-saving systems across the property.

Pomar Nature Escape is designed as a sanctuary – a place where you can truly unwind from the moment you arrive  and where doing absolutely nothing is perfectly okay. We hope to share our dream with you and welcome you to this special place on Madeira.
